High on Hopium, I can't help but wonder which way the political fallout of this weekend's events will blow. Articles of impeachement are being drawn up once again, and with more Trump allies being thrown under the bus, how much longer before the GOP's support of their President cracks beyond repair? And for argument's sake: what would a Vance presidency even look like, should DJT be forced to step down?
Sadly I think impeachment is off the table for now - too many GOP congresspeople fear the backlash from their voters if they back it. But I definitely think that more and more GOP figures will want to distance themselves from Trump as he remains highly unpopular and they are heading into the next elections. Vance I find hard to predict because he has changed his colors so many times, but I think sadly he might just give us a more organized and effective (in terms of achieving his goals) version of Trumpism.
