Thank you for more talking points! I'm surrounded by MAGAts and we chat allot... I do what I can to educate (in small doses) and your colum/newsletter helps. And thank you for letting free subscribers post! I'm on a SMALL fixed income, and I have things to say from a completely different perspective than allot of liberal leaning people and I have no voice on most of these substack... thank you again!

Thanks Andy, glad you found it useful. There are so many things happening right now that it is hard to keep track. I'd love to hear your view on what happened in the stock market in the last few days.

Very interesting article, Trump is moving forward with speed in order to create chaos and making it harder to focus and respond to all of the outrageous executive orders. Hopefully Dems will step up and get the message out and at least try to stop some of this lunacy. But it seems they lack leadership, so who knows...Will the courts help? Not if the conservative SCOTUS judges also fold to the autocrat-in-chief.

Thanks Jesse, glad you liked the article. Yes, I would really like Dems to realize that this is a full-on constitutional crisis in which Trump is trying to steal the power of the purse from Congress. Republican congressmen are not standing up for Congress at all, and the chair of the House budget committee even effectively said he had no problem with this - a crazy position, basically inviting Trump to be a dictator!

A Biden-appointed judge has now stepped in and placed a stay on the order until February 3rd, which should be long enough for people affected to sue and start a longer court battle. But as you say, can we trust other judges to respect the constitution? Not clear that we can.
